Adventure Daycare

Vista Canine offers a pick-up and drop-off Adventure Daycare service for dogs throughout Kerikeri, Waipapa, and surrounding areas.
Operating Monday to Friday, we collect dogs from home in the morning and transport them to our private, fully fenced Canine Adventure Park just north of Ōkaihau, where they spend the day exploring, socialising, playing, and enjoying the freedom of safe off-lead adventures in nature.
Our groups are carefully structured to suit different dogs:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: Mixed-size groups
Wednesday: Small breed exclusive day
We may also accept some elderly or lower-energy larger dogs into our Wednesday groups on a case-by-case basis if they would be better suited to a quieter environment.
Unlike traditional doggy daycare, our focus is not simply on tiring dogs out. We provide a balanced combination of exercise, enrichment, structured socialisation, and adventure in a natural environment. Dogs return home physically satisfied, mentally fulfilled, and ready for a well-earned nap.
Pricing
Adventure Day Camp is $60 per dog, per day, which includes:

Why regular attendance matters
When your dog joins Vista Canine, they are allocated a permanent spot on their chosen day(s) each week. We do not offer casual or fortnightly bookings.
This consistency is one of the key reasons our groups are so successful. The same dogs attend each week, allowing them to build familiarity, confidence, and positive social relationships over time. Stable groups create calmer dogs, safer interactions, and a far more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
In over 11 years of operating this model, first in Auckland under Pack Social - Day Camp for Dogs and now here in Northland, we have never had a dog fight. This is largely due to our gradual introductions, structured group management, and commitment to maintaining stable, balanced packs.
Safety First
Our Canine Adventure Park is fully enclosed with 6ft chain-link fencing, making it suitable even for dogs whose recall isn’t yet reliable.
All dogs travel in our custom-built caged transport van, ensuring they are secure, comfortable, and safe throughout their journey.
Dogs needing extra help
We also specialise in working with dogs who are fearful, reactive, aggressive, or lacking social confidence. In fact, many of our current attendees originally joined us because they struggled around other dogs.
If this sounds like your dog, please get in touch. We’d be happy to discuss their individual needs and whether our program would be a good fit.
Additional fees may apply for dogs requiring significant one-on-one training, management, or behavioural rehabilitation, with pricing based on the level of support required.
FAQs
Is my dog suitable for Adventure Daycare?
Most dogs are! Every new dog goes through an assessment process before joining. We carefully consider temperament, confidence, social skills, and group suitability to ensure every dog is set up for success.r content...
What if my dog has poor recall?
That’s absolutely fine. Our Adventure Park is fully enclosed with 6ft chain-link fencing, so dogs don’t need perfect recall to attend safely.
My dog is nervous around other dogs. Can they still come?
Possibly. We specialise in helping fearful, reactive, and under-socialised dogs. Many of our regular attendees started out struggling in social situations. We’ll discuss your dog’s needs and determine whether our daycare is the right fit.
What if my dog is reactive or aggressive?
Please get in touch. We have extensive experience working with reactive and aggressive dogs and can often help where other services cannot. Additional fees may apply depending on the level of training and management required.
How are new dogs introduced?
Very carefully. New dogs are integrated gradually and at a pace that suits them. We only add new dogs when the existing group is stable and settled, which helps maintain the calm and safe environment we’re known for.
Are dogs supervised the whole time?
Yes. Dogs are actively supervised throughout the whole day by experienced handlers. Group interactions are carefully managed to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable.
What happens if it rains?
Adventure Daycare runs in most weather conditions. Dogs generally love exploring in the rain, and our park offers a variety of environments to keep them engaged. In extreme weather we may adjust activities accordingly.
Can puppies attend?
In many cases, yes. Early positive socialisation is incredibly valuable for puppies. Contact us to discuss your puppy’s age and suitability.
Where can I view photos of my dogs day?
We take photos of every daycare day which are uploaded to our Vista Canine Facebook page.
Do you offer casual bookings?
No. Dogs attend on a regular weekly schedule and are allocated a permanent spot. This consistency is one of the biggest reasons our groups are so successful.
What time will my dog be picked up and dropped off?
Pickup and drop-off times vary depending on location and route planning. We will provide an approximate time window once you’ve filled out our enquiry application.
How many dogs do you have at Adventure Daycare?
We maintain a maximum ratio of 10 dogs per handler. This allows us to closely supervise all interactions, provide individual attention where needed, and carefully manage group dynamics. We believe this balance is one of the key reasons we’ve been able to operate this model for over 11 years without fights.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if your dog is unable to attend their allocated Adventure Daycare day. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full Daycare fee, as your dog’s spot has been reserved and cannot usually be filled at short notice.
If you wish to permanently discontinue your dog’s attendance, we require two weeks’ notice. This allows us to manage our waiting list and maintain the consistency and stability of our groups.
